Known as one of the highest-ranking, longest-serving and most well-liked magazine editors in the media business, he left his job as Editorial Director on March 31, 2019, the day his contract ran out, after 32 years with the entertainment group. He joined Time Inc in 1987 as a reporter for People. In 1990, he helped launch Entertainment Weekly.
